We were drinking. We were drinking a lot and ruthlessly, ruthlessly burning away our organism. We started with wine. Incredibly tasty and aromatic Moldovan wine. Then we switched to liqueurs and to Jägermeister by the end of the evening.

We were drinking, but weren’t getting drunk. For the first time in my life, I stayed sober after drinking so much. We were looking at each other, with conscious and surprised eyes, ordered more, drank and … remained sober.

Actually, this is a site of power to blame for. In 50km from Chisinau, there’s a very beautiful place with a unique history. Unusual people used to live there. In ancient times, when dinosaurs were still remembered, our ancestors used to make sacrifices to their pagan gods… They were substituted by other people, who were substituted in their turn too. Gods and gifts changed. But the place of sacrifice remained unchanged. This is a small circle, with up to 5 metres diameter, intensified with millions of prayers and blood. Covered with cultural layers, weapons, different speeches, this shrine still has that mystical importance.

This place attracts people fond of paranormal phenomena and various mysteries. People say, even skyfish was seen and shot with a camera here.

– I’m electrified! Can you feel this? – those who can feel energy fluctuations shout.

– It’s great! I want to live here! – their friends chime in.

We climbed up the hill, and stopped in the centre. We stood there for quite a long time trying to feel that buzz. That excitement. But we didn’t. We felt a small tickle in our stomachs. Was it self-suggestion or hunger?

Frustrated, we went down to the restaurant. The table had been already laid for our dinner. Following the Moldovan tradition we started drinking wine.

We were drinking. We were drinking a lot and ruthlessly, sparing no red vine litres and exhausting our organisms. But we couldn’t get drunk…
